Yes, I did get some pics - a few.

As a kid, I spent a lot of time on the desert and truly leaned to love the ecosystem. We hiked and drove Jeeps a lot (not allowed now). I used to drive up and down the washes in 4 wheel drive when I was 12 - I guess about 50 yrs ago.

Anyway, both my wife and I love the vastness (you can drive for 12-14 hours through Utah and Nevada and Colorado at high speed and see hardly a house) and the exotic scenery. Sign at Salina - "110 miles to the next services" - and they are accurate.

We REALLY enjoyed the highly featured "Mom's Cafe" in Salina. Articels in National Geographic, Sunset, etc., about this interesting cafe in the middle of this small town in the middle of vastness.
