I got this bike on Sunday and would like any info you guys might have. The little that I know is that it's a bike made for/by Plum Vainqueur's shop in Gent Belgium (it has a decal ) and that it might possibly might of been built by Ciocc. The brakes are Deltas but not C-record. The crank I thought was Chorus but thanks to the velobase site I think it's a Croce d' Aune as well as for the brakes. The headset is either a C-record or Chorus(I can't tell the difference). The seatpost is SR. The shifters are C-record but I don't know which version. The rear dérailleur is Nuovo Record pat 83 ; the hubs are SR and the brake levers are C-record. The saddle is a "Royal." So far pretty good for 125 bucks. One thing that tripped me out was that the rear shifting of the gears is indexed. I didn't think one could get a Nuovo record to function indexed. Shows how much I know. It works smoothly through all 7 gears. Now, what can you guys tell me about this bike? It has internal cable routing for the rear brake and dérailleur. The fork and rear triangle are gold plated. I don't know what type of Columbus tubing it's made of but check out the decal. Any help will be appreciated. For some reason, these small bikes keep plaguing me. The wife loved this one for some reason, yet not the Merckx. Must be the hot pink.
The components are being used on my Colnago which I should have repainted in the next couple of weeks. I have an old Dura ace group that I'm thinking of putting on this one for the wife. What do you guys think? What year is it? Should I go off the Nuovo Record date of 83 or the newer components? Thanks!
