I'm gonna go on the record as saying there is no way a $60 tire last ten times as long as a $6 tire. Maybe twice as long, at best.
Cheap tires tend to come apart before they get worn out, but not that fast. And the two tires I've had sudden bead failure on were a $50 tire and a $95 tire.
I run tires at the $60 end of things, but that's because I think cheap tires make my bike corner like a shopping cart. If you don't care about this, there are serviceable tires around for under ten bucks.
