Cygolite Hi-Flux on Alkaline or Lithium?

After looking into a lot of lights mentioned in my previous thread I'm thinking I'm going to go with the Cygolite Hi-Flux 100 which say it takes 4 rechargeable NiMh batteries. Should it not then work with alkalines (at a shorter life expectancy) and Li batteries?

As I was saying before I was looking for a bright light that can be powered by lights I should be able to find on the road and typically NiMh batteries come uncharged but I should be able to find a few specialty shops that sell Li batteries or just keep replacing the alkalines (anyone know what kind of life expectancy I could expect from 4 c alkalines on a light that lasts 25h on NiMh?).

Thanks again!
