I'd convert from the 1/8" plug to something beefier, at least go to 1/4" plugs. At 35 watts, you really want 18 to 16 gauge wire, and you can't really do that with a 1/8" plug. you only need to shield for line-level, so if it's speaker-level, you really don't need shielded coax plugs, you could go with banana plugs, spring-loaded or threaded speaker terminals.
