I'm installing a DA chain ring on a Rival crank and the chainring overhangs the arms of the spider by about 2mm on either end. Is this a potential problem?
(someone will ask what the F I am doing putting a DA chainring on a Rival crank. Last Sept, at mile 87 on a century, a guy on a Rivendell caused me to hit the tarmac. I was fine but my chainring was bent enough to end my ride. This guy was nice enough to say "hey, I have a DA chainring (130bcd, 53t) if you give me your address I'll send it to you." The guy did.
