It'll be fine. Your road bike only weighs what - 20 pounds, maybe 22? That's not very much stress for a rim to handle. The achilles heel of these systems is the plastisol coating on the hooks. As long as it's in good shape (and it will last a LONG time) everything's OK. When the coating eventually wears through, the steel hookd underneath can leave cosmetic marks on your rims.
