If you weight 220 pounds, I definitely would not consider the Trek Fuels since they run RockShox SIDs. SIDs are great cross country forks designed for small and light riders. If you look here http://www.mtbreview.com/reviews/200...t_122064.shtml, you'll see about 2/3s of the reviews said they blew the seal in the SID :'(

I do agree what you're looking at is overkill for what you're looking for. Kona has a hardtail around 700 - 800 with Hayes HFX-9 on there. YOu should check that one out
