I disagree...go period-esque and ride it. Clinchers that have been powdercoated will mimic the look of hard ano'd tubies, don't sweat the details as much. DA hubs are a safe bet but the rest can be come or go. I'd run a simple open pro/DA clincher set pc'd dark gray, some vintage Sugino/DA cranks (Buy road versions cheap and file off the inner ring stops), some classic Nitto stand-by parts like the pearl stem/b123's etc...bikes are made to be ridden IMO. Put parts on that will have the look but don't go broke.
