Great race! Too bad you couldn't stay out there.

Regarding the sandbagging, it's not like he's just sitting in, waiting for something to happen. I still see where he's coming from by not upgrading. 1/2/3 races are still shorter than 3 races, and it's another level of training to compete there. The other Cat 3 teams are lame for not working on some sort of control. So, you see him go off for a 42 mile flyer, knowing his history. Is there really nobody in the pack with a 5-minute punch to catch him and wheelsuck him? I think they're just making excuses not to suffer.

I'm not saying WJ doesn't deserve the spoils of all his hard work, but a game can still be made of the situation. He's fast and consistently does well, but there are ways to mitigate the situation with strategy. It's not like you have to go out there and ride next to him all day.

I'm a cat 3, and knowing what I know, I'd use my 1m power to make sure I could catch his initial move. After that, it's a chess game... his FTP vs. my AWC. Both have plenty of moves to make with those bags of tricks.
I say keep racing and winning WJ. Maybe someone will step up.
