swapping out sti for bar-end shifters

hey, i have a quick question...
i ordered a new bike from a local bike shop, and the bike comes with sti but they're building me one (from a box) with bar-end shifters. i don't know what kind of brake levers or shifters they're going to use, but probably nothing crazy. assuming they're using middle-of-the-road stuff, do you think the bike should cost less with bar-end shifters?

i guess this is kind of hypothetical since i already paid for it. but i'd like to know. to me it seems like it should be cheaper, and i read a post from someone looking at the same bike who said that it would cost less at their LBS if they opted for barcons. but i don't know what all it entails for the LBS to swap out parts--maybe it costs them. i don't know. any opinions?
