I'll try to be helpful.....your freewheel is probably a POS... you would be able to see if it was rubbing against the spokes
EDIT: just saw that it is a shimano freewheel - they suck but will get a little better with age after they break in
if you want to remove most of the resistance you are feeling plan on dropping some coin on the white industries freewheels
