Koffee, I don't know much about the Volante TriComps, but I recently retired my Fortezza TriComps after 4,000 miles and only one puncture. In fact, I liked the Fortezza TriComps so much that I bought a pair of Vredestein Fortezza SEs from Performance (Nashbar's sister company).
I wouldn't pay too much attention to tire reviews on roadbikereview.com. From what I've seen disgruntled tire customers are the vast majority of posters on tire reviews, regardless of brand.
