i agree.
I'd much rather have that kind of luck where i wasn't paying attention for the cyclist and was paying attention for the dog. haha.
I actually have a pit, he like cyclist but he tries to run with them, but he doesn't go out off the leash. I don't understand people that leave their dogs out for extended periods of time without being out there with them.
