I'd agree...on both counts

Retrofitting a bike can be fun. It can be a learning experience. It can be challenging and rewarding. But it is seldom cheap.

Get a new bike. Outfit the Trek for off-road touring...a fringe of a fringe sport if there ever was one


And get a fly rod because it's good for your soul.
