Hello from Southern California!

Hi all,
My name is Tom, and I have been riding regularly since 1987. My wife calls me "Cycleman". Pretty original, huh? I'm 49 and work as an Engineer developing disposable medical devices. Last year I rode more than 4000 miles, mostly commuting. My commute is 35 miles round trip. Part of my route is along the ocean, which is nice. Recently I have been commuting less, but going on Saturday morning group rides. These rides are fast! They leave me too tired to commute more than once a week. But I am getting faster, especially on hills. My bike handling skills are improving , too. I ride a Trek 5200, the most comfortable bike I have ever owned. These days, comfort is more important to me than absolute stiffness. Well, that's about it - I love to ride, and look forward to sharing thoughts and experiences with others who love to ride.
Tom
