Mechanical disc brake calipers stick out from the frame about 20mm straight above where the rack eyelet is, therefore a standard rack won't work because the brake caliper is in the road.

Are they brakes Mechanical or Hydraulic?
Hydraulic disc brake calipers are much much narrower than the Mechanical disc brake calipers and you'll probably only need a special rack for disc brakes if your brakes are the mechanical ones.
