I'm trying to find an internal gear hub with coaster brake that has the most gears. I don't want any of the equipment associated with conventional derailleur gear systems or conventional cantilever brake systems. I recently found the Shimano SG-3C41 DX. It is a 3 speed internal gear coaster brake hub. However I can't seem to find information on how to shift its gears. I first learned of this hub while reading about the
Africa Bike 3.0 from Kona Bikes. The Africa Bike uses the Shimano SG-3C41 DX.
There doesn't seem to be any gear shifters on the handle bars and there doesn't seem to be any cables leading to the rear hub. So I assume you shift gears by pedaling backwards slightly like the Sachs Torpedo Duomatic 2 speed hub or the Bendix 2 speed kickback hub.
Anyone got any information about this hub?
