Yesterday I did a ride in Southern Cal. called "Breathless Agony" Touted as one of the most difficult centurys of all. It's 112 miles and 12,000 ft. of climbing all in the first 80 miles, finishing at Onyk Summit in the San Berdardino Mtns at an elevation of 8300ft. I'm originally from Hutchinson and have lived in LA for 30+years but I have a Kansas jersey complete with Jayhawks that I bought at Sunflower Bikes in Lawrence. I wore it on the ride yesterday and while I had to endure endless Toto jokes I did meet a guy from Overland Park who came out for the ride. I don't know how he trained for such a mountainous ride in K.C. but he passed me doing just fine. Goes to show ya what I tell these beach bumbs out here. We Kansans are tough. Here's a friends report on the ride http://www.bikeforums.net/showpost.p...59&postcount=1
