Rockville, Bethesda, Gaithersburg, Germantown, Frederick, going North. There is a Metro stop right at NIH so you don't even have to drive. And they have a cycling team/club. I'm in Germantown so I cant speak to anything past Bethesda or Silver Spring. Tons of trails, paths and hills for your riding pleasure.
