Cycling would be an excellent alternative transportation: it's exercise, it saves energy, it's fun, but people have come to believe this propaganda that it's dangerous. It's not. If darling little Virginia needs to be protected, put a helmet on her as soon as she wakes up. Oh, and by the way, helmet-wearing doesn't prevent accidents, following the rules of the road does.
