Welcome, from one Uber to another.
I have been riding now for 2.5 years and have logged over 9,000 miles weighing 340-350. I snapped a stock spoke early in my riding (2,000 mile mark). My LBS hand-built a set of wheels with DT spokes. I would take the wheels back once a year to get re-spoked and didn't have another problem.
I recently bought a custom bike with velocity deep V spokes (40) and haven't had a problem on that wheelset after 1,600 miles.
Find a good wheel builder in your town and you'll be fine.
