I'm not sure how much is in common with your alloy frame and my steel frame other than the name because I suspect that Scattante is merely a branding company for Taiwanese frames. But, the SSR frame is very high quality. The weld beads are actually smaller than those on my Lemond steel bikes and the track ends are great. The paint looks thin; however, from a structural perspective the frame is solid. It's made in Taiwan using double butted 4130 chro-mo steel vs True Temper OX Platinum steel on my Lemonds, which are made in the US.

Hands down it's a better built frame than a steel Pista.
