I went to grad school at ASU from 2002-2004. I would LOVE to move back there for the commute. I will admit that sometimes even on my short commute from school I mismanaged my temperature control and ended up in a stupor for hours afterward. Knowing what I know now, however, I would use my jersey and bandanna as a swamp cooler. That was the way we were able to regularly ride South Mountain in 105+ heat.
Believe it or not, we regularly get over 105 here in Boise and the above method has worked very well. I certainly prefer commuting in 105+ heat than in the cold temps we get here in the winter/spring.
