You're very kind, I wouldn't laugh it off and it IS their fault. It is their responsibility to be sure something as basic and important as a crank bolt is torqued correctly. IMHO, you should contact them immediately and tell them what happened. That way if the crank is damaged, and it shows up later, they will help with a replacement. I've seen some other posts here about BD and it appears they are pretty good about replacment/repairing faulty parts. Also, if they've received other complaints, they can check their inventory of that bike and prevent others from dealing with the same problem.
