Ditto what riffert said. If you get it up sloppy, that's surely when it will storm. And that's when it will leak.
Practice to do it right and quickly for when you need to get it up in the teeth of bad weather.

It also pays to know how to find a good tent site as well. Flat as possible with no roots or rocks, spread some vegetation if it's stony ground, head uphill, door away from the wind.
