Most mass market American beer is developed to taste the same as all the others. And no matter what the marketing boys do; whether it be lite beer, ice beer, dry beer, or that ultimate in bottled air, Michelob Ultra, it's all about the drinker being able to consume mass quantities just like he did in high school in order to prove his manliness. Taste? why, all beers tasted crappy to high schoolers so why worry about the taste? Besides, they're going to drink it so cold as to be tasteless anyways.
Life is too short to drink crappy beer.
