105 STI will pull road specific disc brakes just fine. Make sure you get road specific mechanical discs, like the Avid (SRAM?) BB7. Careful, there's a mountain version of the BB7 as well.
Also, your disc brakes will require disc wheels.
i wasn't aware that there were different versions of the BB-7's... but i did know i'd have to change out wheels. actually, the wheels are my biggest complaint about my road rig. so i was pondering "downgrading" them to something heavier, and heavier duty, anyhow...
