Not Eggbeaters but I've used mountain bike shoes and pedals for well over 10 years now on all my bikes. I don't see why you'd use a pedal/shoe/cleat combination that are nearly impossible to walk in. Mountain bike shoes are every bit as stiff as road shoes and you don't look that funny while using them. If you have to, you can walk literally for miles in them. I have
