Suicide is a fixed cog on a freewheel hub with no lock-ring.
Upon braking (skiding or skipping) the fixed cog begins to unwind, and will eventually fall off.
Suicide isn't as suicidal when you have a brake.
It's not a bad deal. But you will spend some money on a new rear wheel if you want a proper fixed gear bicycle.
