When carbon parts fail the results are unpredictable and catestrophic. Carbon forks are subject to sudden, sometimes violent impacts and hanging a rack laden with up to 30 lbs of pannier and gear is a risk that IMHO should not be taken. But its also true that BOB trailers work fine on bikes with carbon chainstays. Nevertheless, you won't see me EVER hang front panniers on a carbon fork.
