If it's been on there a while it might have just done it itself. I had a bike that, while admittedly was only infrequently ridden for most of its life, never had a flat in 14 years. I'm not sure what exact process caused it (dry rot or something?), but I basically had to destroy the old tires to get them off when I finally wanted new tires.
