Yeah, that's about right. If you stay away from the Gateway counties (NE, Passaic County to parts of Middlesex County) then you're fine. (For the record, I grew up in Bergen county, work in Union county, and live in Middlesex county.)
Middlesex roads are tough, when I ride down from Morristown to the shore every so often, I go down to Ryders lane and lately its felt I'm on a freeway. Never had cars pass by me so close and so often outside of NYC.
