The only ray of sunshine in a situation like that is the ability to track the offender-soon to be victim-down and exact revenge. Dog feces under the door handle, cut off valve stems, shredded wiper blades, punctured radiator, severed brake lines, missing lug nuts. Or if you can catch up to him/her reach into the window, remove the ignition key throwing it into the woods or down a storm drain just before you turn that p.o.s. into a bleeding gasping waste of skin on the side of the road hopefully in much worse condition than he/she/it had left you.
