style of rotor doesn't matter. Before you go to all the trouble, tho, some new pads (front and back) might be all you need to make the brakes work. Most people feel that BB7's are the best cable disk brake you can buy. They should be more than enough even at the present rotor size. I'd try the new pads with whatever the recommended break-in procedure is before upgrading the rotor size.
