Opinions on Fuji Roubaix?

Looking at getting my first geared road bike in 15 years (currently own 2 fixed gears and a mountain bike). I am going to use it mostly for longer weekend rides, charity events, etc. [spinning like a madman down country hills gets old after 40 miles]

I am used to riding steel bikes and have not liked any of the aluminum frames in my price range -about 1K -- I took this guy for 2 test rides this weekend--rode very nice. LBS is selling for $900 sans pedals. It has a carbon fork, carbon seatstays, integrated BB and headset, 105 rear and everthing else the "new" tiagra.

I don't know much about Fuji except they made crap in the 80s, but I have heard their stuff now is pretty solid and is a good bang for your buck.

I am basically down to this Fuji and a trek 1.5. Ride is a little smoother on the trek, but the shifting is noticably better on the Fuji (no doubt due to the 105 rear).

I would appreciate any insights/opinions, etc.
