California Vehicle Code VEH Section 1803
The following violations are not required to be reported under
subdivision (a):
(6) Violations for which a person was cited as a pedestrian or
while operating a bicycle or a motorized scooter

And here's text from the CA DMV website (http://www.dmv.ca.gov/dl/vioptct.htm):

Violation Point Assessment
Any violation occurring as a pedestrian or a bicyclist has no point assigned.

That's funny, cause I've asked 3 cops since I got a ticket a few months ago on my bike for the same exact scenario and they ALL told me "yes, it goes on your driving record".

Either San Francisco doesn't give a *****, or all the city cops I talk to are terribly misinformed.

Actually, scratch that, I KNOW they are all misinformed cause every one I ask tells me something different about bike laws in San Francisco. It really is sad that we can be pestered and fined so much for doing something that is way safer than things people do in their cars every day (and don't get pulled over for). Yay Obama? Hah...
