I remember a motocross rider back in the early 80's Danny "magoo" Chandler, that had that win or die attitude. Great to watch him race cause he usually would get out of control and crash trying to get to the front. I think he broke his neck and retired, but he will always be a legend to me.
And that reminds me too of Dave Aldana - - AMA Grand National flat track racer in the 70s. When he didn't crash big, he'd win big. He had one of the most storied rookie seasons as an AMA Expert Pro, If you watch
