I tend to do that in roots. We don't get rock gardens out here like south or east. But we have roots (as I am sure you know as similar terrain) that like to eat wheels and spit you out. I tend to get sketched out on those, grab some break and fly through the trees like superman...

Throughout the summer I concentrated on not braking as often as I could, not even with one finger on the brake (this helped two fold, 15 runs on whistler mountain hurts the hands big time gotta find ways to rest them)...I even want up without a front brake to really get me used to the speed a bike is capable of. Learned a lot doing that...but I still sketch out sometimes and grab the brakes haha
