Yes, it was made in 1981 but not made in the USA. The K indicates your fras\me was
intended for the US market, as opposed to the Canadian market, which got frames with serial numbers that started with a C. New evidence suggests that European market models may haveserial numbers that begin with E. All Nishiki models in my data base have been made in Asia, either Japan or Taiwan.
