I'll assume you're talking about the chain wearing in. In which case it's a bad idea to wait for this to happen, over a 12" section of chain you'll only get about 1/16" - 1/8, "stretch" anyways. And while you wait for this to happen, keep dropping the chain on every bump. Great idea.
