First, I could not get your link to Specialized to bring up the bike you're looking at.
Assuming its the Rockhopper Pro at 1350, the components on the Univega look better to me, but the M-4 Rockhopper is a reliable design. I'm biased because I have an older, A-1 frame Rockhopper, but I'm very pleased with it.
As for Univega, I thought Darby buried that name back in 2000. Guess someone is bringing it back or maybe it's available in Europe like Nishiki. I don't know much about them as they are not available here in the states, or at least I've not heard that they are back.
