We Americans are more concerned about personal comfort and convenience than truly helping the very environment we live in. That's why you see people who live 2 miles from work "going green" by replacing a few light bulbs instead of biking or walking to work. Not that there's anything wrong with using more efficient light bulbs, but that's a very, very minor change compared to what many of us could be doing.
