New to biking in Ann Arbor

Hi to all. I recently moved to Ann Arbor, MI, which seems like the grand capital of cycling. It wasn't too long before I got myself a mountain bike (199 GT Korakoram for $200 in great condition) for mountain biking with co-workers and a road bike to commute to work.

My road bike was a 2001 Trek 1000 that I bought off of craigslist for $100 because the seller said it was no good anymore. I begged to differ. After replacing the bottom bracket, the bike was good enough for me to commute the 11 miles one-way to work each day. However, once the snow started, I decided to re-build the bike with better components. I joined this forum for help/opinions while re-building my bike.

Nice to meet all of you and thanks for all the help in advance!
