More good words are confidence, confidence, confidence. I think we tend to overdo the worrying with the obsessive fear of falling when it comes to clipless pedals.
We often advise beginning mountain bikers to look where you do want to go, not where you don't want to go. The bike will go where you look.
I think this applies to most things. Focus on the desired outcome and you'll have a better chance of it happening. Focus on falling and the chances of that happening will increase.
