It was all the talk the whole year. You did not want to ride in those early days of hardshell. They were heavy and hot.
I started serious cycling in 1991. My Bell hardshell helmet had a nifty 1/2" hole in front of the forehead you could open by moving the Bell oval up and close by moving it down.

If that turns out to be true, that would be hilarious considering the reputation we have gotten out here. I'm planning more road races and fewer crits next season because I don't feel like spending months off the bike while I can't conduct my bands.
I'm not actually sure it's crashes that caused it or other incidents.
