the pake is not a tank...
my friend has a pake and his fork is starting to wiggle a little...i think he busted a weld...he thinks his headtube is now ovalized...
i ride a KHS Flite 100 which is essentially a generic Mercier and i haven't had any problems thus far...it's nimble and it rides great...
in conclusion you should get a Jury frame...
