Hey!

I don't know if this is the right forum, but I am thinking of going on a 800 km long trip through France this summer.

... and I need advice on buying a bike.

I am not yet decided upon the route, but I don't think that I will drive exclusively on asphalt.

So I need a comfortable bike with which I can go up to pretty high speeds. And one which I can use to drive on relatively uneven terrain (like woodland?)

I guess the bike should be pretty light too.

Also, I don't want to be riding in a standing position or be too bend forward.

I prefer sitting comfortably upright.

... Or is this incompatible with the sort of trip I am thinking of?


My budget for the bike is 200 Euros maximum.

does anyone have any suggestions on what kind of a bike I want to buy?
