What a great day! I thought us Californians were used to driving/riding long distances, but 47 miles to a bookstore is a haul? I really envy those busy roads and smooth-looking shoulders. I live in an ag town south of San Jose, but within commute distance and one of the main, busy county roads has a shoulder that varies from skinny to "where'd it go?".
