I agree with you veloGeezer, which is why "bike friendly" was in quotes. It isn't much different here than in other places I've lived. In addition to the glass, we also have ridiculous amounts of gravel that never gets cleared off the roads, and the city recently installed a street car in downtown Seattle with tracks that are the perfect width to take out road bike tires...
